Finished 9-10oz (4mm)

I’ve been purchasing leather from the Skirting Factory for some time now. I have many favorites. I love the Montana sides 4 oz. for bags, and the Finished 9-10oz black for my belt making. I’m big and so are my friends and clients. The black Finished 9-10oz is perfect and doesn’t stretch like other leathers. This father and son team is an inspiring aspect that I truly support.

I’ve purchased 9 hides so far and all have been excellent my favorite’s are the Montana sides both 4 and 9 oz along with the finished black 9 /10 ounce without belly. The last one is the burgundy Latigo 9 to 10 ounce and 11 to 12 ounce. I promise you won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t.

Made my last 6 belts using the 9-10 oz leather from the “skirting factory”. Great to work with and edge burnishes like glass. My cut came without the belly, but they have with if you prefer.

The finish on the back of the leather is lovely! Bought 4 sides recently, my favorite was the black without belly because it already had a straight edge and made nearly 20 blanks!

I bought the finish black 9/10 oz. Without belly for $99 for making belts. It makes very good belts.

I have ordered around sixteen sides from them so far. If you have specific needs and want to see certain things in the hides you order either call or send Manuel an email. My last order was #2 heavy. Couldn’t be happier! You ask, he delivers. I have also ordered his sheepskin (very happy) and his Latigo (extremely happy). Don’t order blind, tell them what you need and they will deliver!

I bought three #2 sides and I’m very happy with them. They cut well, tool excellent and build a beautiful saddle. The only thing I will say other than that, the sides run small compared to American hides so instead of two sides I ordered three. That is well under what I’d be paying for American hides but with the same quality. I will definitely be ordering more, you can’t afford not to!

Just got another order in. 2 days to Tampa from Texas. 5 #1 natural double butts, that were beautiful and a lightweight black montana side, that is just the ticket for a couple bags i want to make. The leather has not let me down yet, the double butts and Double Culattas give great yield for belt making, and I use them for other projects as well!

After seeing advertisements here on FB, and the recommendations of a couple trusted leatherworkers, I ordered a side of latigo. Was delivered very fast, tracking the whole way, and the quality of the side of latigo is outstanding. I will not hesitate to order from them again. I couldn't be more pleased with both the leather and the sales process!

The Skirting Factory is a great company to buy leather from. I like their customer service. I called Manual before I made my first purchase and asked a few questions. I couldn't believe how good their prices are. I definitely recommend The Skirting Factory especially if you're making saddles and horse tack.

This is really great old world style veg tan leather. It is a pleasure to work with, it tools and stamps wonderfully and takes a beautiful burnish from stamping. The edges burnish with ease with a bit of water and glycerin, and I haven't gotten a piece of leather yet that did not suit my purposes.

Don’t mock it till you try it! So far, I have purchased around twelve of their skirting sides as well as their latigo and their shearling. I have been very satisfied with the leather, and their service. My customers have been extremely satisfied with the saddles produced with this leather as well.

I've gotten some absolutely beautiful leather from these guys. I suspect it's the very same veg tan leather I previously bought from the larger distributors with a sticker saying "Made in Argentina." No point in paying a middleman, been buying straight from the Skirting Factory since.

After buying a side of latigo and being very pleased, I ordered a side of skirting. I did not buy it with the intention of using it on a saddle (yet), just wanted to experiment with it. It shipped amazingly fast (both times), and great prices as well. I just used a bit of it to make a 3-ring binder recipe book for a friend. This stuff tooled and finished amazingly well and I won't hesitate to buy again. (No, not sponsored in any way, not a bot, just a very pleased customer who believes in giving credit where it's due!)

I have had the pleasure of tooling the natural skirting, the natural double culatta, and the chestnut heavy skirting. It really burnishes beautifully from the stamps, and the edges burnish very nicely as well.

I have gotten quite a few really good sides from here. From the rose skirting and the heavy oil sides. And even a few black American harness sides. Really good customer service and knowledgeable staff. Thanks.

I too “just” received my first 14+oz skirting side and am extremely happy with it. Will get many CPL belts and heavy duty ones from this side. Will be ordering again!!

I ordered two Skirting hides and a latigo, the latigo was damn sure top notch. I have yet to carve it, but it's got great temper and color.

Amazing Argentine vegtan leather! Awesome that they are now here in TX . I use to buy this leather from Sholtz leather in Chattanooga TN back in 1995 and some from Double K leather in Missouri. They were both their distributors in USA at the time.
